I finally got my soundcard working. I used the NHF's and earlier posts about soundcards and i really appreciate all the help this site gives to newbies like me. I am one step closer to eliminating windoze from my computer.

Great, Linux is loads of fun, isn't it?
Struggled with my i810 onboard video (mostly supported by newer distros now).
Struggled with my Rockwell software modem (now using USR hardware modem).
Struggled with my onboard sound (have now installed OEM soundblaster card).
And I still like Linux.
