I am trying to setup Kmail to utilize multiple email accounts. I have gotten it to check and fetch multiple accounts, as well as filter the mail to diferent folders...

My question is how can I specify which account I would like to Send mail through when I am sending a message. It is common for my girlfriend to send messages and I would like her to be able to have the mail sent through her account rather than the default account (mine), so that it shows her return address and what have you?

How can I do this in Kmail?

I think you can only have one SMTP server at a time that sends mail for all accounts. Unless she logs into KDE with her own user id then she should be able to set up a separate Kmail account using her own smtp server..

It's the same smtp server to send the mail through, I would just like her to be able to specify who's account it should send through, that is apply her return address identity to the message.

I know it can be done in Outlook because that's what we used to use. I would think that you would be able to do that in Kmail as well...

Maybe I will take a look at evolution.

Actually I was wrong about only one smtp server. You can create a separate Identity for your girlfriend to use. Go to Settings -> Configure Kmail then select the Identity settings. Click on New and then fill in the blanks. There is a button Add Transport that will allow you to specify a different smtp address. When she wants to send mail just use the Pull-down menu to select the Identity.
