First off i had Win2k on my Primary IDE controller and had Mandrake on a seperate ATA100 Drive..

I finally got Mandrake 8.0 to install and run but, WIndows2k will not boot and LILO does not see it...it just writes LI10101010101010101.....etc....

Can i get rid of LILO and just boot from floppy(i would prefer just to boot with floppy, it seems to be the least hassle for a newbie) to mandrake or do i have to use a boot manager...

I tried to install a fresh copy of windows2k but that did not help....

Should i delete the drive(will that delete theMBR)?

I am so close....

How can i solve this problem?

Thanks to all that help or has helped...

Not sure how to make it boot from a floppy, but I know how to kill Lilo. In DOS type fdisk /mbr

Hopefully someone can help you with your problem.

Did you see CMonster's response in your previous thread (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=019028). I believe he gave you the answer there.

Welcome to the Windows 2000 forum. Just kidding. Before you reinstall Win2k, did you make an Emergency Repair Disk? You can use that to restore the NT boot loader that Win 2k uses. If you did not create the disk, try using Win2k's repair options before doing a full reinstall. When you put in the Win2k CD, you'll be asked if you want to repair or install.
