Hi,

I've been trying to get Xwindows to start in RedHat 7.1 on my Toshiba 200 cds laptop. I've got Linux installed fine, and I've finally got an X86 configuration that seems to work ok, but I always get an error that keeps the Xserver from starting. The Xwindows startup log has the following errors:

(II) Load Module: "v4l"
(ww) Warning, couldn't open module "v4l"
(II) Unloading Module "v4l"
(EE) Failed to load module "v4l" (module does not exist, 0)

the letter beside the 4 is an "L" not a "one".

Anyone know what the error means, and how I can fix it?

Thanks

Joe

Have you looked up The Linux Laptop Site (http://www.linux-laptop.net/) to see if anybody has writte about how they got linux to work on that particular model? It is probably there.

Go have a look and come back to us if you still have problems.

Yes, I've been there. The paper on this model doesn't include this error.
