it is a 350mhz with drake 10.1 on it.256m ram and 10g hd.
this is my second machine(1st is an xp)im trying to ween myself)).
my question is...i have the machines setup on my intranet.i can see the linux box from all the machines here but i dont know how to access the others from the linux box.
i recall using network neighborhood once but i dont remember where or what os that was.i searched everything(forums, software packaging)and cannot find any info, unless i missed it.ill keep looking and checking back here periodically.
thank you for your time and patience for such a stupid question.

Hi Mike!

Lean on your higher power...oops! Wrong window.

Mike, if you happen to have KDE as your UI, see if you have a program called 'SMB4K' accessible through your 'K' menu.

If you run that, it's somewhat like the network neighborhood kind of thing, and you should be able to (at least) see the other machines in your workgroup.

Depending on the share permissions, you may be able to mount shares (with a right-click) and access the contents thereof.

or you could simply put in the following in konqueror smb://[ip address or comp name] to access the windows machines or even linux boxes running samba shares
