I am trying to find a way to view my desktop from one computer on another computer. I don't know exactly what this would be called. The closest thing I can think of would be "remote X11 connection" but the research I've done on that topic isnt quite what I'm looking for. Can anyone give me an idea of what topics I should research? Thanks for any help.

you can try "ssh -X hostname" and then launch individual apps like mozilla , etc...
Otherwise search for VNC.
NX, aka No machine is what I use. If your looking for the ability to run an desktop like you were actually at the computer it's self.
If you use KDE you should also install Knx client, makes logging into NX servers a little easier. If your on SuSE you can find NX, and Knx under the base packages, if not you can go to NX's website, and download the required packages from them.

Good luck!
