When I installed RH7.1 on my Via/ATI Rage XL system I could go to KDE control centre and in the look&feel/screensaver I could set the time for the screen saver and the time to put the monitor to stand by.

Now with RH7.2 on my AMD760/Rage Fury PRO and kernels ranging from stock to 2.4.17, the setting from KDE is gone to set the monitor to stand by.

What do I need in the kernel (or anything else) to have the monitor to stand by again?

Thank you for your time.

Did you check all the "Advanced Power Management BIOS support" options when configuring your kernel? It's under "General setup --->".
