Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : what do I use to burn cd's?
What would I use that would be comparable to mp3 wizard? I prefer something GUI based so that I can choose 12 mp3s and convert to wav and burn to cd. Right now I am riping in Debian moving the ones I want to burn to win and doing it from there.

Red Hat and Mandrake both have some nice burning software. Infact I like it better than Roxio Platinum which is what I use in windows. However I only played with it for a little while and cannot remember the name offhand. Go to www.linux.org (http://www.linux.org) and look under applications ot check out mandrake's and Red Hat's sights.

I don't know if they have anything that will decode MP3s for you and do CD burning. I just use XMMS to write WAV files from MP3s, and then I use gcombust to burn those to CD as CD audio.

Oh, you are copying CDs? (Insert RIAA scolding here) Anyway, you don't have to encode them into MP3s to do so. In fact, you're wasting time by doing so. Just rip the audio to WAVs and then burn those to CD using cdrecord or gcombust (for a GUI)

i want to keep them as mp3's on my HD and just lower the number I have to carry in the car. Going to see about using xmms to convert back then I can burn and delete the wavs.

Xcdtoast comes well recommended. Its a GUI front-end for CDRecord, so you'll need that as well.
