I am looking to get a digi camera and would like to know if anyone has some suggestions. I see that the Kodak DC series is pretty well supported in Linux but that line has been discontinued.

So what camera do you like that is supported under linux?

Greetings,

I have the Canon PowerShotA20...seems to work pretty well...i had to get the gphoto2 libraries to use it and the front end that i use is called gtkam...you should be able to find both in an rpm format at http://www.rpmfind.net..

there is a whole site dedicated to digital cameras at http://www.gphoto.org/ That is the site where you can get the latest and greatest gphoto libraries

Good luck and happy hunting!

Thanks for the input.

I just went out and bought an Olympus C-3020. It was not on the gphoto2 supported list but the C-3030 was so I decided to give it a shot. Turns out all I had to do was have the usb-storage module loaded and the camera is recognized as a scsi vfat drive.

And its a pretty sweet camera too.
