install query

Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie to linux and like some advice on choosing and installing linux plz.. I've got a spare computer i made from bits and bats would like to install Liunx onto this if possible. i currently have cd's for Linux Slackware 8.0 if i can use this or any advice on which popular flavor of Linux to choose from. anyway this is my comp spec..

pentuim 2 400mhz
128mb ram
4gb hdd
40x speed cd-rom
sound+graphic on board.
i don't however have a floppy disk for this and wondered if there is anyway to install without the floppy, just to get a hang and use of linux.

any advice greatly appreciated.. :)

You should probably try Redhat or Mandrake. They are very easy to install. If you want to learn fast then install Slackware or Debian, they require a lot more work to get up and running.
