Topic says it all.
Can someone tell me if Linux works with an ATI Rage 128 pro videocard?
And RoadRunner?
And like, I was wondering what would happen if the installation went wrong. Would I have to format?
Thanks. :| Stupid Windows crashes every 2 seconds and is really slow.

Get Mandrake - not sure where I forgot the URL for where I downloaded the ISO. I orginally bought 7.2 but in my many attempts to install from time to time I scratched it! :( (Work in a pc shop you tend to NOT wanna work on a computer at home!)
Yes it should work with Roadrunner..
I know that it partitions off some space on your drive. I worked at a comp shop so I took my old pc (celron366/192MBRAM/3.2 gig) and converted into a linux box.
I love it. I love learning and Windoze became too easy after a time. However I will keep a Windows box just so I can play all my games!
I even put Linux under programs I have experience with in my resume... Of course in my area it won't do me too good and if a job did come up I would be totaly under qualified for it!
You will need to get use to installing other proggies and stuff, I am still getting use to it. I finally got it on my dsl; which I posted many q's on I came up wtgh a temporary solution!

Linux works with that particular card and Road Runner. IF your road runner provider requres you to log on before you can use the service, it takes a little more setup, but Mandrake 7.2 or 8 should make it work just fine.

Read up on some of the installation NHFs here before trying to install. I'd also suggest you buy a boxed distro and read through the installation guide that comes with it.
Your video card works, but it might take some tweaking.
RoadRunner works too (I'm posting from it), and it's easy to set up.
If installation goes awry you don't have to format, just reinstall. This is assuming you don't mess with your Windows partitions. Messing with them (resizing them, moving them) always holds a risk of screwing them up. Just be careful, follow directions and you will be fine.
