Hello All, i've been using kubuntu 5.10 and hooked up my Hp psc 2110 share via a windows machine flawlessly, my test page came out fine. I tried to print a document from openoffice and all it does is sits in the print queue as 'processing...' and never comes out, i've tried other drivers, other trays, 'raw', 'post script'. No avail, has anyone else had this problem? i'm thinking its with OO. Thanks all!.

you're trying to configure it from within OO.o's File-->Printer Settings?

If you are using CUPS to print to the printer shared off the windows box, then dig around in the OpenOffice printer settings until you find a line called Print Command or something similar. It's set to the value of /usr/bin/lpr or /usr/bin/lpr-ng or similar, change that to /usr/bin/lpr-cups (or wherever lpr-cups is installed on your system). Anyway, that's what fixed the exact same problem for me. I had to the same in firefox.

I would have tried your suggestion lastnight but lastnight i did manage to fix it. In the 'add printer' setup I get an option to choose a manufacturer and mode. Before, I chose HP however below it was HP (sumtin) a code of somesort. I went this route and picked my model and all worked fine. Thanks for your assistance if I see this again when I install dapper I will give your suggestion a try first.
