hey guys, i'm totally new at linux. sorry for any dumb questions.

I was just wondering if linux supports NTFS. Unfortunately all my inportant files are on an NTFS drive. I'm having lots of trouble finding the right command for mounting that drive. I'm guessing it goes something like:

mount -t <<SOMETHING>> /dev/hdd /mnt/hdd

I'm using Red Hat 7, kernel 2.2.16

thanks

If your kernel is compiled with NTFS support then you can mount that partition, but from what I have read, you should only mount it as read only.
