Hi folks,
How to check (what command line to be used) the usb port of a motherboard, USB 1.1/USB 2.0
If only USB 1.1 supported, is there any way to upgrade it to USB2.0 other than changing the board.
TIA
B.R.

Try using a program called usbview. It is a GUI tool that lists all usb ports on your machine. You can then look at the speed it supplies for the port. If it say 12 Mb/s then it is USB1.1 if it is around 200 Mb/s then it is USB2.0. HTH.
Edit: Actually I just checked and usbview actually tells you specifically what version of usb the port uses. Click on the port you want to check and then look for a field that says "USB Version:"

No there is no way to upgrade a port without changing the board. You can buy PCI cards with USB 2.0 on them though, so that might be an option.
