Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if it is possible to remaster the Ubuntu live CD? There are a few programs that I want to demonstrate on a PC without installing it to the HD, problem is that a lot of these programs have to be compiled by source. If I were to take a fresh ubuntu install, compile the programs that I wanted to and take a few away that I don't need, can I make it into a live cd, or is this a pipedream?

Thanks

You might try looking at http://www.livecdlist.com/wiki/index.php/LiveCD_Creation_Resources which provides links to a couple of different places that have resources describing how to make a live cd from any distribution. HTH. :)

i've successfully done this with debian using http://linux.com.hk/penguin/man/1/bootcdwrite.html

not sure if ubuntu would work just as well.
