I am using SuSe Linux 10.0. I have downloaded the server from apache.org and extacted the file. I now have a folder on my desktop named "httpd-2.2.0". I need to know how to install this.

Use YaST to install Apache.. it's easier.

When you need to know "How to do <something>" the best thing to do is to read all the programs documentation....if you have trouble, next search for an answer (in these forums or http://www.google.com/linux ), and if you are still confused then open a thread here and refer us to the exact step you're stuck on.
