Mount problem in 2.4 kernel

Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded from the 2.2.16 kernel to the 2.4 kernel and I'm not able to mount floppy disks.
It always says: Wrong major or minor version number.
I retried with the 2.2.16 kernel and the mount still works perfectly.
Anyone have an idea what the problem could be? :confused:

That sounds odd, but lets look at this.. at the command line type
fdformat --version
this will return the version # of your floppy utils. it should be 2.10o or greater. If not, upgrade.. (mine is 2.10r ... which is current) ... I suspect that it got missed on the upgrade ...
