I have Googled up a storm on this one and can't find a definitive answer.

As background, I am installing Sarge on my Omnibook 6000 and have installed the base Debian system (network install/No network). I now need to get the wireless network functioning to continue the setup.

What is the best method of configuring this card. I have found sketchy comments about ipw2000, a cicso linux client (which I can't find) and ndiswrapper.

My plan is to boot into Win2k, download anything needed to a shared FAT partition and then boot into sarge to do the work.

Any direction by those with experience is appreciated.

Dave

Is it the cisco/aironet 340/350 series?

No from what I can tell.

I have attached the link to the Windows driver that I used. When you drill down to the Wireless Lan Adapters you see this card listed seperately. That doesn't mean that it is dramatically different, just that I can't tell whether the 340/350 driver will work.

I posted in the hopes of finding someone with the same card that had travelled this path previouly.

lspci listed the device as an Atheros Communications AR5212 802.11abg NIC.

This was more helpful in identifying a driver. Looks like I might have to try to get a loaner card that I can use to apt the kernal sources and the mad-wifi source to build the driver.

Thanks
