Ive done a partionless install of RH v7 but, my Creative SB Live! is not working properly. In root, using sound card config utility, I get thrown into a loop. It detects my card "SB Live" however when I confirm the choice no sound is heard. Im then asked to choose the card again, but the same thing happens. Im in the X window system when configuring this, is this a problem? I was given a prompt warning about configuring in X Windows but continued on with the install. Any ideas?

Perhaps the volume is too low. I think there is a gnome tool bar volume applet you can use to change this.... Or start an mp3 player or something.

Nope. That's not a problem at all.

No good error. I went in and fiddled with my sound through the apps but still no sound. The volume's fine. Even put a cd in to play. It reads and spins the disk in my CD ROM drive but the sound is zilch...

Have you looked at the NHF on this site for SB Live cards?

I had an embarassing time with my SB Live! card. First thing you should try is cat /proc/devices or lsmod, see if the driver is loaded and the card detected. My was, the problem I had was that since emu10k1 doesn't have support for all four speakers, the plug needed to be in a different spot (on mine it was the second from end). Don't use the digital out. Maybe thats it
