I am running Fedora Core 5 Test 1 and having a little trouble getting it to communicate to Windows computers on the network. First I tried to allow anything that was samba in the Firewall settings and SELinux settings. This didn't help so now I have SELinux disabled and the firewall disabled completely. This still didnt help. When I click Computer, then Network, the Windows computers show up, but I cant open them. When I try to open one (this one is called D3) I get the following message:

Cannot open smb-workgroup-D3

The filename "smb-workgroup-D3" indicates that this file is of type "desktop configuration file". The contents of the file indicate that the file is of type "x-directory/smb-share". If you open this file, the file might present a security risk to your system.

Do not open the file unless you created the file yourself, or received the file from a trusted source. To open the file, rename the file to the correct extension for "x-directory/smb-share", then open the file normally. Alternatively, use the Open With menu to choose a specific application for the file.

I don't understand what this is asking, if I right click on the file and go to properties, it says that it is "x-directory/smb-share".

BTW I am using the default GNOME desktop environment. If I can get this working I will be very happy because I have most of my files on a drive in this computer (named D3) that is shared over the network (including my music! i can't live without my music, and its frustrating that i cant listen to my music cause i finally got my sound card to work in linux! lol ;) )
