Root password in Linux

Some time back I have seen a good document on the net stating the procedure to reset the linux password if we miss/forget that. I can't remember that search string and tried using various others.Pl send me some useful links if you have. Thanks in advance.

Boot with a livecd or installer cd, mount your file system, remove the password from /etc/shadow-, reboot, log in as root with no pass, reset a new password.
