/var/log/messages is HUGE!

I have PMfirewall installed, and have it blocking most ports on my computer. The other day I noticed that my messages file was enormous so I opened it up and found it filled with firewall messages.

Is there any way I can make PMfirewall be a firewall without making huge log files? I mean, this one IP keeps pounding me (currently looking into this with my ISP) and I know it's pounding me so I don't need to be told 5 times a second!

I think there is a way to change where it logs to, but you certainly want to keep the logs around. Maybe look into rotating them on a regular basis, keeping 4 or 5 days worth, or more when they get interesting...
