Ok, I did a fresh install of Debian Sarge on my P2 last night. After I got the base in I apt'ed xwindows kde and stuff like that. My problem is, (this has never happened before even though I have done an identical install on another comp) whenever i edit Kmenu it doesnt save my changes even though I click to save it. Also the 'Debian' folder/menu doesnt show up. I have no idea what is wrong.

Here is my second stupid question :-). Is there some fun way to have debian to have the slick hotplug ability that Ubuntu and Mepis have? Like i plug in my USB moues after I'm already logged in and everything and it will spike my CPU to 99% and stick there. Also I would like it to find and auto mount my USB thumbdrives andd stuff like that.

Sorry to be a pain with all these questions but I've done some googleing and havent found any solutions. Thanks for the help in advance! (Sorry to be annoying with all the questions! :p )

Not sure about the first problem you listed but this page might help with the automounting: http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/127

Well all of a sudden my changes appeared in the Kmenu when i booted up today. But the Debian menu still dosent show up though. Any suggestions? This is a really vague and weird one.

And thanks headfuzz! I'm gonna work on getting that functioning

Ok, I kinda feel like a retard but I figurered it out. Needed to install menu and run 'update-menus'. I checked if it took effect under the kmenu editor and it did and now it all shows up in the kmenu! Hope that helps someone!
