Hi there!
Yes, I can use wireless broadband under Linux, but I'm not sure about folks living in Sydney. :D

That's a tough one...I can't tell if the "Navini wimax" cards are supported or not...

Yeah, I can't find anything...seems like google is returning more and more "junk hits" these days...either that or the information is sparse.
My advice is call them up and ask them. Perhaps the 3rd person you speak to will know.

Hello MrSmith

If you are talking about a wireless connection from your modem to your ISP, meaning you have an antenna on your house that sends and receives your internet connection then yes.

My internet connection I have at home is a wireless connection, I have a 70 foot antenna tower I put up so as to clear some woods, and on top of that is a antenna that is pointing to the main ISP tower. My average down is from 1200 to 1500 although I have seen as high as 4500, they had my connection unrestricted for about two weeks. They have the upload locked at 386 there were to many people running kazza and such.

Or if you are talking about a wireless network pc to pc the answer is still yes though I'm not running one myself.

[edit] My ISP is www.speednetllc.com

Hope that helps
Dan

Looks like its a bigger version of a home wireless network, you should call them like je_fro said.
Here's a page I found on it, http://www.unwired.com.au/unwired/how.php
you may only need a windows os just to setup the modem and after that any os can use it behind a router.
