I did a search (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=search) on both these terms (which should be done before posting a new topic BTW) but came up with nothing useful.

I did see a couple of references to printtool which is what I used when I had Red Hat but I tried to apt-get install printtool and it didn't work (E: Couldn't find package printtool)

I'd rather use printtool as opposed to some alternative since I'm used to it. Anyone know where I can get it? Need to add a line to my sources.list possibly?

BTW I also did a search for printtool on Debian's (http://www.debian.org) website.

try

apt-cache search printtool

or just:

apt-cache search print

and see what comes up... maybe you just didn't get the correct package name.

Sorry, I am not in Debian right now so can't really help you more than this.

There is a package for printtool on debian's site, it's on testing and unstable. I have an older version than the one they run that I could email you. Just email me.

Yeah printtool is in testing and unstable. You could also try magicfilter. Also you defiantly will need gs-aladdin. Make sure you have non-free in your apt sources, becuase the free gs just stinks.
