I have just tried to install a 2nd hard drive in my windows box. This drive will be for Linux. The problem i am having is The BIOS auto detects it just like it should. It doesnt show up anywhere else though. I Tried to Fdisk and when i entered Fdisk i got a flashing warning on the bottom of screen saying unable to display drive 3. It doesnt show up under display partitions. any help would be appreciated

is the jumper set right? I don't think it would show up under display partitions because it has no partitions. Do you have a Partition Magic?

yes first check the jumpper setings, then make your bios detect the hard-drives again, something like "HDD DETECTION", sometimes some bios can keep old configurations, even when they are configured to detect any changes! Try this, then post here the result.
Good luck!!!

If it is showing up in the bios then you it's probably OK. Just because windows fdisk cant see it is nothing to worry about. I would go ahead and try the install. The linux fdisk is much more likely to detect the drive properly.

The Jumper settings are correct. I even changed to the other. IDE slot on the board. I have it set up as a slave to My Zip Drive. Would it possibly make a differnce to go to Master?
