a problem about screensaver ?

I often set the screensaver to protect my computer.
But, when I am playing a movie, the screensaver is so disgusting.
I want to set it, that is ,when I play movies, the screensaver stoped,and when I stoped playing, it can be running again.
Now, my idea is runing a deam process.It can search if the player is running ,if so, it stops the screensaver, and if not, it starts the screensaver.
I know at, crontab, etc may be can do this, but I don't know how. please help me make it.

assuming you're using mplayer....
do this:
man mplayer
hit the "/" key
enter "screensaver"
feel the rush of enlightenment!
