cannot mount /home on startup

Gooday,
yes I'm a newB
I just got going running FC4
then on startup my system couldn't mount /hme, then it prompted me for the root password and gave instructions as to disable security status for the HD tools (I don't remember the filename off the top of my head) I will post the actuall command in a post tomorrow morning..

My question is... what tools do I have to use for HD repair issues? (I could probably sift through online MAN pages to learn how to use them)

try man fsck and man fstab

Did you run another distro before, and just installed FC4 keeping your old /home?

I had installed other distros installed but when I installed FC4 i reformatted /home
I will look up those commands
