For those of you out there who are 21+ and go to the bar every once in a while, I personally am sick of paying for the touchscreen games(megatouch, who DO use Linux). So I got this bright idea to get a touch screen and start creating games. With my first attempt, I just wrote a few games(tri towers and funky monkey) as games by themselves. Now I'm putting them together in a group run by either one binary or multiple binaries, depending how they're compiled.

ANYWHO, I'm thinking of adding this to sourceforge to see if someothers want to write a few games to add to it. The name I currently am using is stupidgames. Any ideas for another name that's pretty slick, this one took NO imagination.

hmmm...I like all three, tecknophreak games, cause everyone has an ego, touchme games cause it sounds naughty :D and bar games cause it's easy. Any more?

Nice Cyber. ;)

I think the winner will be TouchMe Games. Everyone here at work liked the name. Thanks, I'll post something once I get a few pre-alpha games up and running and placed up on sourceforge.

Well, I've got a few more games now. So feel free to poke around the home page: http://touchmegames.sourceforge.net/index.html <--- Under constructionish, I'm just saying that cause it looks like poo. :( BTW, unless you have my dartboard, none of the dart games work, since they're waiting to connect to it.

Games I currently have: tritowers, compile4(connect4), gorillathrilla(funkymonkey), threescompany, wordhunt, videopoker, and some others. If you do download it, I'd like to get some feedback, haven't gotten much.

Will they only work with touchscreen? (I haven't looked at the site so don't bite me). If they will work on a normal machine, I will happily beta test them for you.

leonpmu,

Nope, they're just aimed at touchscreens, but don't require one, so you might see bigger buttons or text than on a normal program you will run. Also, if you do play the megatouch, let me know if there's a game they have that I don't and you'd like to see. Depending on the game, I can usually kick it out in 2-3 weeks. Thanks.

Mystery phraze is one of the games that I play all the time. I love it when the machine vendor comes in & gives me a choice of what the prize game will be for the next two weeks - I always pick this one & win the money :D

Mystery phraze huh? I can write the game, but I'll need someone to do the research to get all the phrazes, any chance you'd be willing to help?

I can get a good may of them I believe. I manage the bar & when I close a few nights a week I'm allowed to stay there for the hour & a half that I would be gone before I have to go back in again. Let me know what all you need & I'm willing to help with any of them in any way I can - I don't know any programming though (sorry). BTW this one is also a megatouch game, is it just me or is that pretty much the only type that you ever see in the bars?

I just wrote a simple game and released it GPL, on sourceforge
kinda thing. It uses the SDL library, and I don't know if that jibes with
what you're doing.
It could probably be adapted to
have on screen buttons as controls instead of the keys, as
it currently does.

it's at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cars

You're welcome to use and adapt it for your collection if you
feel like it. It's kind of in that alpha-ish state, but I thought it
was in decent enough shape for the forge!

If you can get the phrases for this, that would be a great help. I might even have someone who will be willing to help out write the code for the game. You can email me at tecknophreak@gmail.com and we can work out some of the details of what you can get.

I've seen the megatouch games up and down the east coast, and I might have even seen a few on the west coast a year or two ago. - mostly work trips.

What part of PA are you from? I'm about 10 miles north west of philly.

I'd love the help. I'm more interested in coding and getting things in the actual project then working on the sourceforge page. If you really have the time, drop me an email. Thanks.

bones996, I got the mystery phraze up there now, it's under words/secretphrase, if you want to take a look.
