CMonster 05-04-2001, 03:56 AM Are you saying you have one and it doesn't work? If it is an IDE/ATAPI drive then you probably need to modprobe sg and modprobe ide-scsi and append hd*=ide-scsi e.g. LILO/GRUB *=whatever drive the CDRW actually is. EDIT ~ er..3-beers to the wind>>! :) [ 04 May 2001: Message edited by: CMonster ] RGG2201473 05-04-2001, 09:58 AM I don't have a cd-rw yet. I want to buy one and of course i want one that will work with Linux. I was thinking of getting the Plextor 16/10/40 but since it's fairly new i'm concerned that it won't work with Linux. I'm a bit leary of getting non-supported hardware in light of my ongoing battle with modems. I mistakenly bought a winmodem last year and a couple of weeks ago a I bought an internal Multi-Tech MT56Kisa that is supposed to work but... nothing. I put in and turned on the machine and Linux doesn't see it. At this point I have no idea why or what to do about it. justlinux.com
