I'm quite new two linux but I'm starting to get a hang of some things. But this one I can't figure out.
I want to remove and/or add deamons at startup.
I tried using chkconf, but I'm not getting it. Are there any good resources on the net about The V init thing. I don't really want to use the GUI tools.
I know the place to look is in
/etc/rd.d/rcX.d. In these there a bunch of links. Is it ok to simply add and delete these links. Or is it better to use some tool?
