i get this message right when my kernel unpacks at bootup...everything seems to boot normally afterwards though...it just increases my boot time by a few seconds...anyone know what this means?

It doesn't do any harm, but just annoying. Some time ago I did spend quite a bit of time searching Google, but really could not find a solution to this problem. For now I'm just hoping one of the new kernels will fix it. justlinux.com
