Hello,

I have a Packard Bell Axcel 47CD [one of the last 486s sold]. I am using the bare.i bootdisk with Slackware 7.1, and after loading the RAMdisk and inserting the root disk, I finally get the # prompt. I type

"fdisk /dev/hda"

Hit return, and nothing happens. Maybe the bare.i boot disk doesn't know what kind of hard drive I have. I know its IDE, but I don't know what kind of card it uses or anything... any ideas... or suggestions as to what bootdisk I should use?

thanks in advance

Even though this is most likely irrelevant, I am using the color.gz boot disk.

When you get to the # prompt, just log in as root, you will not have to enter a password. After logging in as root, then give the command: fdisk /dev/hda.

Hope this helps.
