You need enlightenment, enlightenment-data, epplets. Optional you may want eterm, e16menuedit, e16keyedit. Look in rpmfind.net for mandrake rpm's of those. Then do this as root: rpm -ivh <package name> or use kpackage or the drake package utility. mis 03-28-2001, 11:26 AM Don't forget the enlightenment-conf as well so you can actually configure it. Mis demetrius 03-28-2001, 11:39 AM There are Enlightenment RPMs on the Mandrake7.2 cd. If you dont like installing from CLI then just fire up one of the package managers like RPMDrake and install it from the GUI interface. slayer17 03-28-2001, 12:02 PM The easiest way to install enlightenmnet if you have the cd is to load them up and in a xterm type :----> kpackage When that starts click the folder in the left had corner and choose to open the /mnt/cdrom directory. (mount it if it isn't automounted for you! ie. mount /mnt/cdrom). Find enlightenmnet and choose to install. Also choose epplets for it. That should be it other than finding it on the cdrom. If you plan on doing a clean install from the website, you have to get all the liberaies and that is a pain in the ***. Let us know if this helps you or if you have any other questions. slayer17 chaoscapstone 03-28-2001, 06:55 PM thanks guys, I got enlightenment running. I like it a lot better than Sawfish. Are the applets those cool vertical panel that allows you to put the time, weather, and other functions in it? I have seen some screenshots with them, and really like it. I have some of the Gnome ones in my bottom panel, but am wondering where to get the ones on the side. plus the gnome applets are kinda boring! Tyr-7BE 03-28-2001, 07:49 PM Are you thinking of gkrellm? See if you have gkrellm installed and if you don't, go get it...it's a hell of a good program. justlinux.com
