[SOLVED] installation hangs

[DIRTROADSetc]

when I try to install fedora core (3 or 4) it stops at /sbin/loader
fc3 is on dvd and fc4 is on 4 cds
Redhat 7.2 & 9 give a kernel error shortly after Anaconda starts
(retail box) SuSe 8.2 Pro hangs on hardware detection when booting
any ideas?

winXP home sp2
AMD Athlon XP 1900
512 mb ram
Direct X 9 ( not sure if that matters )
ATI Radeon 9200 128mb AGP
Creative Sound Blaster PCI
PS2 keyboard
Nyko Airflow USB mouse
Maxtor 20gb hd
dvd-rom

You're welcome. I'd recommend not using those old Red Hat versions (I'm assuming you just tried them out when other installs weren't working). Why not grab SuSE 10 at www.opensuse.com?
