Ok heres the deal, i am running Linux Mandrake 7.2 on its own partition. I have been trying forever to get my NIC card setup and @home working but i can not seem to do it. When i bootup, i am told that initialization of the card is being delayed. It was not doing that earlier today and i do not know what is causing it. That is not my only problem though. When it was working, @home was not. I have tried using dhcp to get online and now i am trying to do it with a static ip. I have created some screen shots to give you guys some info. Here they are:

Also, here is some more info when i am in the console:
[root@c303918-a /root]# ifconfig eth0 24.182.21.197
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
eth0: unknown interface: No such device
[root@c303918-a /root]# ifconfig eth0 24.182.21.197 netmask 255.255.255.0
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
eth0: unknown interface: No such device
SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
[root@c303918-a /root]#
Please guys i can not figure out what to do here. Please help me :(

Under adapter1, config mode set this to DHCP

Not sure but you might have more problems than that but give it a try
Good luck

I know what the problem is, but since the last few times I posted the answer and had been a little upset that a search was not tried first, I promised I would never do that again.

hint hint :(

Alright, so I'm feeling like being nice today:

Canned Answer #1:
Turn off Plug-N-Play support in your BIOS.

Beer sounds good. Canada? Anywhere close to Toronto?
