reconfigure Lilo...

Hi,

I did something really stupid this afternoon. I was sorta lacking sleep when I was experimenting with BootMagic from PartitionMagic software. I accidentally saved the setting when I had BootMagic enabled.

I think it erased my MBR, which originally housed Lilo. I was wondering if I have a boot disk or something, is there a way to reinstall Lilo back into the MBR, or even configure it elsewhere on the logical partition that houses my Linux?

What do I have to do? thx.

Just boot from the floppy disk, log in as root, and type "lilo" at the command prompt.

And if you don't have a boot floppy, but can boot from your installation CD, then do an upgrade and skip through to the "make boot floppy" and "install boot loader" sections. Then you'll have that floppy ready for next time and won't need to go to the CD.
