Intel Pro Wireless 2100

I have a problem on a notebook with SuSE 9.3.

It detects the device perfectly, loads the modules etc. But according to dmesg, the radio switch is off.

Now the big problem is, this particular notebook has no switch on the casing to turn on the wireless on or off.

I can't seem to force it on using kwifi-manager.

Does anyone know how to force the radio on?

Try bringing the interface up and seeing if it turns it on automatically.

Nope it doesn't, the interfasce is up, but searching for a AP is a waste of time...

make sure the firmware is loaded.

Check bios settings for "always on" radio settings

most keyboards have function shorcuts to turn it on/off..mine is FN-F2
