Help I graded to KDE 2.1.1 from an eariler 2.x version. Check for dependencies all was ok.

So installed the rpm's. Log out and loged back in and got the following error message.

There was some error setting up inter process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was.

Could not read network connection list /home/curtiss/.DCOPserver_noname.nodomain.nowhere-:0 Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running.

What does this mean and how can I fix it. Luckly I still hv KDE1.1 installed and can get into that but not KDE2.1.1. Using eDesktop 2.4 any help is appriceated.

I got this error several times, too.
I think the easiest way is get rid of it, is to delete almost all hidden kde files in your directory (.MCOP-random-seed; .DCOPserver*; and so on) The exception is the .kde directory (Do not delete it! All mails of kmail, settings, etc. would be lost!).
The next step is to delete all hidden kde files in your /tmp directory (I usually delete all files there).

I hope it helps,

Bernd
