need help, gdk-pixbuf won't install

Hi,
when i try to install gdk-pixbuf, it says:

.libs/libgdk_pixbuf.so: undefined reference to "then in these quotes it says what is the undefined reference, ex. XFREEDEVICELIST"

Bet you would. Guess nobody knows or someone would have responded by now. Did you try Google?

What method did you use to install (apt, tarball, etc.)?

i am using peanut linux (ibiblio.org/peanut) and i used tarball (if that is the tar.gz file extension - sorry, im new at this :))

What do the readme's and other included documentation have to say? Anything special required for compiling that you may not have installed?

I will look @ the doc, but i don't think there is anything else i need. I think there is a problem with my X libraries.
