weird program takes all cpu time.

i just noticed today that my opengl screensavers were sooooo slow, so i logged in and to my surprise i found that that cpu was running at 100%. i had'nt anything cpu-intensive working at the moment so i launched top and found that "festival-synthesis-driver" was taking all cpu time, some search on these boards showed it worked as gaim plugin, but i never installed it and i do not need it.
i have a firewall running so i don't think it's an attack.

what do you know about this app?

It's a speech synthesis app.

do you know if it's a dependency to some other app/game? cause i'm pretty sure i've never installed it myself.

Depending on your distro, you may be able to bring up a package manager and in the files view, it will show what files/apps are linked to the festival app. It may be for a game/IM/applet that was installed when you installed the distro.
