Hello,
I don't have Cd-rom in my future server , and am not really looking for putting it there ... so, is there any way to install linux without cd-rom ?
and of course , how ?
thx :)
p.s. most probably Slackware, if that's needed
Slackware will allow you to install via NFS, so if you want you can export the CDROM from another machine on the network, or from a directory on the HDD. Other distros will allow FTP installs, you might look into Debian or FreeBSD for something along those lines.

use debian, its really easy
http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/ch-install-methods.en.html#s-install-floppi es (http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/ch-install-methods.en.html#s-install-floppies)
get it started with floppy , then ftp whatever else you need
oh, yeah, freeBSD is fun to install with floppy/ftp too
