Hi;

Does anyone know of a good little stand alone gui spell checker?

Most text programs have a builtin spell checker, I know, but some don't. Ideally, I would like to select a word or a group of words (not a whole document neccessarily) in any program, text editor, word processor, etc. and then be able to launch a stand alone spell checker to check those selected word(s). Pasting the word(s) into a spell checker gui would be an acceptable. I would expect aspell would be the undrelying engine.

Regards Bill

Thanks Hayl;

I have the gnome dictionary on my panel and I use it a lot. But it is more of a dictionary than a spell checker.

What I was looking for is something that uses aspell and is 'sort of' a free floating version of 'MySpeller' (I think its called) in OOOwrite; being able to use 'select' on some text and then quickly checking a word or a block of text -- especially for programs that do not have builtin spellcheckers.
