I've got a problem with a Maxpeed port not activating (or so the user says) until 8:00 am. The best I can tell is that it's open for use 24/7. Someone please tell me where to look to set it wide open. TIA

If something isn't happenening until a certain time, it's probably a daily cron daemon. I'm not sure how Red Hat works, but under debian it's all under the /etc directory. /etc/crontab, /etc/cron.d, /etc/cron.daily. Check out those paths and see if you can screw around with some files.

Thanks, I'd already thought of that. The only cron processes running is the automatic tape backup and it's finished long before 8:00am.
What I have is an interface between our RH 5.2 system and a Unix box. I've been told by a user that the Unix box has a time table schedule by when the maxpeed ports are available but the unix administrator says that their side activates at 6am. I have the same exact software at a few other sights it works without problems. I keep thinking that the problem in on the Unix box but they won't admit it and I continue to bash my noggin against the wall. Thanks.
