Hi,
I'm a linux nebie .
I have been given a system that has mandrake running on one partition ...and win 98 on the other. How do i get rid of mandrake and install red hat 6.1 in place of that.

Before you consider removing Mandrake, think about this. Mandrake is basicly and easier to use version of red hat. In fact, the two share many structural features with respect to their directory structures.

depending on the version of mandrake installed, I would reccomend you keep mandrake istead of the older red hat 6.2. Any version of mandrake above 7.1 I would reccomend to a linux newbie.

If you still want to put red hat on though, you can install it using the existing mandrake partitons.

On another note...I believe this is my 200th post here on LNO. yay! ;)
