Hello,

I am trying to run a dual boot Win 98/Linux Mandrake 7.2. I experimented with just Linux as my O/S and found it so difficult I needed to have Win 98 around so I could get help.

I went through the install screens to setup my hardware. The only thing that setup properly was the printer. The screen was adequate, although I did not get to install my Nvidia Drivers. Most importantly I did not get to install my US Robotics Performance Pro 56K Modem.

Mandrake recognized my modem as a US Robotics Modem, but my particular model was not listed. I don't understand how it could work if I don't have the proper drivers installed.

Can anyone help me? I also want to install my soundcard too, but don't know how to do it. I did read up about HardDrak and how this is supposed to help install new hardware, but I could not understand it at all.

I think there may be some commands here that are out of my reach. Someone help please.

Is there some sort of medology I can approache to installing all of my hardware, and software? Including my MS Intellimouse Software?

Steven

I can't help you on your modem. I've never had to install a dialup modem before. What soundcard do you have? You can get your nvidia drivers from their website. Your mouse should have been recognized. Do you have the 5 button explorer version? If so and you are wanting to get all your buttons working, I don't know if that is possible. Is you mouse currently working?
