What do the errors say? At what point in boot up do they occur (POST, kernel boot, what)? Without this info. all I can say is to open up the case and rearrange the memory.

Crossposting under different topics in the same forum? That's a good one.

He's trying to say that this post should really be in the hardware section.

Anyway, I think you should just swap the RAM around until it starts working. I know I had to do something similar when I got some new RAM.

Some FYI:

SPD means serial presence detect. Ordinary SIMMs use presence detect signal lines to inform the motherboard's BIOS about the size and speed of the particular SIMM. The BIOS can then make any necessary changes to the motherboard's configuration to use the SIMM. SDRAM modules rely on an EPROM or EEPROM chip, which contains parameters such as memory type, size, speed, voltage, row and column layout, and so on. This serial presence detect data is read by the motherboard BIOS at startup, and it allows the PC to adjust automatically to the particular SDRAM in the system.Sounds like a bad stick of RAM :(
