Never tried installing without creating the swap partition even though I have more than enough real memory to run without it. Would Linux complain if it doesn't have the swap? Give the install a try without creating a swap partition. You can always create one after. NHF's here at LNO will tell you how. Muzzafarath 04-15-2001, 10:08 AM I don't think Linux will complain if it doesn't have a swap partition. When you boot the setup for different distros, they usually don't have a swap partition... There's a way you can enable/disable it with swapon/swapoff, so Linux can probably run without one :) johnmann 04-15-2001, 12:37 PM thanks for the info, actually i've ran linux just fine without a swap part. but wanted to know if each os needs it's own or at all,did not want to flirt with disaster, thanks again for the help justlinux.com
