I ve been looking for a KVM solution for my desktop arrangement but i recently bought the Belkin Omniview and it sucked on my Mac and Linux Computers. Is there any KVM's that you all use that work well? I have 3 computers (but am building fourth) so the switch needs to handle 4 computers. DVI or VGA (really dont care much as long as DVI dosent cost too much more) And it has to work with Linux, Mac, FreeBSD, Solaris, and last but definatly least, Windows. Audio support is a must too. The belkin omniview worked perfectly in windows, worked in mac till u switch comps then it lost the signal entierly and in linux the mouse would go crazy. The omniview box said it worked with Linux and mac but i learned that the linux support was prettyt much a buncha lies and u have to buy a about $120 adapter for it to work on mac. I looked at a few alternatives and this seems to be a good solution. Here (http://iogear.com/main.php?loc=product&Item=GCS1734) Looks pretty legit but I wanna see if any of you guys use this or some other KVM that works for you. Here are my comps if it helps

Power Mac G3 Blue and White (OSX 10.3 Panther)
Compaq Presario 5000 (Windows XP / SimplyMepis 3.3.1)
Custom AMD64 (Debian / Windows XP)

I'm gonna swap up the OS's soon but that is the general idea. If you all have any input on my situation it would be greatly appreicated. Thanks in advance!

I have/do use VNC and i find it useful for larger systems. I am basically using this VNC switch to have multiple computers in this office with very limited space. I do use VNC to admin computers in other parts of the house but for this room i need a KVM. Anyone use the one i mentioned or can suggest another?

P.S.
Thank you very much soulestream for your input, it is greatly appreciated.

I use a 2 port Iogear and have no problems what so ever. So I would say go for it.

I use one of these:

http://www.iogear.com/main.php?loc=product&Item=GCS614A&PHPSESSID=b5be05f87e0b23e385771f85b78a325a

Works great with 2 slackware machines and one windows 2000 machine.

It has audio, but I don't have any speakers connected to it.

Its probably way more than you want to spend, but take a look at the Avocent ranges.

We use the enterprise ones work across Window, Solaris, Mac, AS400 and a couple of Linux boxes.

EDIT: Site above is UK based, try:

Ok, a big thanks to everyone! Your opinions along with some reviews on the internet have sent me down the road of IOgear. I'm gonna get the one i first mentioned. It looks really solid and alot of linux/mac/freebsd users have gave all of IOgear's products great reviews. Thanks again to everyone who helped me in this decision!
