Hi,

Got given a PC today nothing fancy: Celeron 333, 192Mb Ram, 4Gb HDD etc.

I've just attempted my first "real" install of Debian on it (i installed dual boot on this machine last night very quickly). The problem i am encountering is the install hangs after I've pressed enter for the boot from CD it fires out it's thing and hangs just after the "Inode cache hash table entries", then does nothing. Has anybody encoutered such an occasion??? Anyone help?

Thanks in Advance

Kieran

have these cd's worked before?

I had install issues and choose (chose?) to install using expert26 mode, which told me more about where my installs were failing. Maybe that could help

Yes I also thought of that.

I also, just in case, burned a new disk off and same problem. I also change the CD Rom with a new one I havelying around, changed Graphics Card and took out the network card no joy!

It may be hardware (MoBo) related. I'm going to try and install Win98  to see if that completes.

Thanks
Kieran
